J.A. Plant Pool is to import 510 large buses to augment the deficit in the public transport system.
The company says the Yutong buses which seat up to 45 passengers will be sold to commercial drivers and other interested organizations on flexible payment terms.
Technical Sales Manager Osei Nyarko Kennedy who spoke to Joy Business at the launch of some of the buses said the vehicles are very fuel-efficient and have been designed to give maximum technical and economic comfort.
“We intend to bring in these 500 buses with different models, give [them] to the GPRTU, especially as our major target and also support the institutions as well, like the universities,” he said.
Mr Kennedy said persons and institutions interested in a bus will be made to make a 20-percent initial payment and the remaining amount spread over a period between one and three years.
The package comes amid car loan packages commercial banks give to drivers.
